Ch. Meadowoods Close Encounter CDX JH WD Target Meadowood Chesapeakes breeds for quality not quantity and to the Chesapeake breed standard with proper size, coat, and balance; sound animals with excellent temperament, conformation, obedience, and hunting ability have been well established in our breeding. Our goal is to breed good quality Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, healthy animals that are correct to the breed standard. We OFA, CERF, and Optigen test our Chessies and we strongly encourage that our puppy buyers do the same. We have bred only twelve litters in the 29 year history of Meadowood Chesapeakes. Our dogs have been awarded 131 A.K.C. and A.C.C. titles with over 1,200 A.K.C. awards. We have several titles in agility ranging from novice to MACH. Our dogs have proven to be excellent gun dogs and can do the job they were bred to do with hunt test titles, ranging from junior hunter through master hunter and WD through WDQ. Several dogs have received obedience titles from CD through UD and rally. Our Chessies have excelled in the conformation ring. Our dogs have been ranked in the top five Chesapeake Breed and All Breed systems nation wide for several years. Our dogs have multiple Best of Breed wins, Group wins, Group placements, and an all breed Best in Show. We have had success at National Specialty shows with multiple Best opposite sex and judges award of merit. Our Chessies have multiple Best of Breed wins at A.C.C. supported entry shows, five of which came from the Golden Gate Kennel Club bench show. 33 Champions, 48 Obedience titles, 12 Hunt test titles, 20 Agility titles, 18 A.C.C. titles. 1 All Breed Best In Show Over 450 Best of Breed Wins 11 Best of Breed Wins at Supported Entry Shows 5 time Best of Breed Winner at the Golden Gate Kennel Club Show 2 Best of Opposite Sex wins at National Specialty Shows 4 Judges Award of Merit at National Specialty Shows 1 Award of Excellence at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship 76 Group placements 10 Group firsts, 22 Group seconds, 18 Group thirds, 26 Group fourths
